Welcome! My name is Nequita Shastid and I will be your child's fourth grade math teacher this school year. I have taught for the past 10 years, one year in third, and the rest in fourth. My classes, professors, and learning experiences attained through my attendance at Southeastern Oklahoma State University have made my transition from student to teacher a seamless one. Upon completion of my courses I gained a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I taught at Bonham ISD for 8 years before making my move to Sam Rayburn. I've been here for 2 years and love the students and staff.
Often I am asked why I choose teaching in the first place. For me, teaching was an easy choice. I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. As a little girl I continually wanted to help my fellow classmates succeed and delighted in helping the teacher with any task, for no task was too large or too small. I found I had a way of communicating that allowed struggling students to find success. Therefore, it was a natural path for me to take to become an educator.
As always (after a rejuvenating summer break), I am ready for the start of a great year. I look forward to getting to know your child, teaching your child, and helping your child be the best mathematician he/she can be!
If you need me feel free to send me an email and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
